What year were you born?
1970. The story goes that I was the 3rd try for a boy. I fulfilled those shoes very well for my parents and was a tomboy most of my life. Now’s the part where I get to embrace my divine feminine and express her fully out into the world!
What was your life like growing up? What dreams and goals did you have for your life when you left High School?
Grew up in the rural mountains of Colorado. I spent many hours playing in the forest behind my house climbing pine trees and granite rocks. I often spent a lot of alone time out in nature exploring and being adventurous. Deep nature is where I feel my true self and I can align with my own natural state of being. I am a quintessential tree hugger and nature lover. It was a place I could go to remember that, somehow, I belonged and I mattered.
I went to school in the small town of Estes Park, Colorado. We had to literally walk a mile to the bus stop to catch a ride to school everyday until we were old enough to drive. I grew up with the same kids and have life long friends that I still stay in touch with. It was a beautiful place to grow up. As a senior, I knew I wanted to do something like being a teacher, counselor or coach; anything to help people feel better
I went college at Colorado State University and studied Health & Wellness. After receiving my master’s degree, I got my dream job as a Wellness Coordinator for Lockheed Martin at Buckley Air Force Base. It was the perfect combination of coach, teacher and counselor. In my 20’s I started to realize that I had intuitive abilities and began studying holistic medicine. I was inspired by the medicine woman in my life and wanted to pursue a more integrated approach to health and wellness. My intention was to go to Naturopathic College in Portland, but ended up on soul-led journeys into the jungle of Central America and the Andes in South America, where I learned indigenous healers who taught me more about the supernatural and my connection to spirit guides and natural world. I learned about the importance of ritual, initiations and the power of ceremonies.
What is the one piece of advice would you give your younger self?
You are free to be your true self. You don’t have to walk on eggshells to be a people pleaser. It’s not your job to carry the burden of other’s emotions and energies. It doesn’t matter what other people think about you - what matters is that you are unconditionally loving yourself and celebrate the truth of who you are. You are loved. You are beautiful. And, you belong. Keep your heart open and love yourself no matter what others say or do.
Name at least one outstanding experience you have had in your life. How did this or these events affect you?
Giving birth to my daughter… at home… laboring alone for the most of the night…the midwife showed up minutes before she was born. I learned about perseverance, faith and trust in myself, my body and my spirit helpers. It blew me wide open in many aspects and in the end, I undoubtedly possessed the wisdom and deep reverence for the power a woman holds to bring life into this world. We are powerful portals.
When in your life, so far, have you felt most confident and why?
Right NOW. Because I know my truth, I have an open heart, I am the most embodied that I have ever been, which translates in my work and relationships. I am comfortable in my skin and confident in the positive energy that I contribute to the collective. I have learned the art of how to be unfuckwithable with grace, open heartedness and ease. It’s magic to embody the truth of who I am and to effortlessly allow that to radiate out into the world around me.
How have your dreams and goals changed now that you are 40+
Realizing that the Disney princesses and Hollywood Rom Coms had it all wrong. There is no Mr. Right or that ONE person (one soul mate) who can meet all of your needs. Instead, there is a sacred connection with our Beloved. Our beloved is within us…. our soulmate is not a person, instead I feel it is an essence that can be embodied in other people. When we cultivate sacred union of the masculine and feminine within, we don’t need to look for it outside ourselves. So for me, the goal of being married “happily ever after” has changed (divorced 9 years ago) and I treasure meaningful relationships without the contract of marriage. My dreams and goals of being of service through healing and teaching remain the same.
Have your core values changed over time? What do you value now?
I value myself more… I use to put others first to make them happy and to my own demise feel depleted and not enough. I now fill my cup first before helping others.
Share an indulgence:
Dark chocolate with sea salt, Deep kisses that take my breath away, Erotic dance & feminine expression, all things beautiful, and traveling the world as much as possible.
How do other people describe you or see you?
Funny, loving, loyal, supportive, wise, adventurous, inspiring, down to earth, powerful, sensual and sexual.
What is your superpower?
Being an intuitive psychic medium with the ability to see & hear what’s REALLY going on,
Can you share what your favourite part of your body is? Why?
My ass because it’s strong from doing embodied feminine dance and the nape of my neck because it feels sexy.
Do you like being 40+?
yes, Yes, YES…..I like being 50+ even better. I’m the happiest, the healthiest, the sexiest and the most sovereign that I have felt all of my life.
How has your relationship with yourself changed as you have gotten older?
I am less hard on myself, I am less self-deprecating, I celebrate myself, I adore myself, I love myself, I respect myself and I realize that self-love is essential to be the best I can be.
Future…
What goals/ambitions/dreams would you like to be working on that you haven’t had the opportunity to start on yet?
Getting my teachings on an online platform, offering healing retreats in beautiful & sacred places, Offering my work to larger groups of people and globally. Essentially, traveling more, teaching, having fun and doing what I enjoy with like hearted and minded people.
What advice would you give your future self?
Take your time, be patient. My daughter is only sixteen once… I have my whole life for my career but I only have a couple more years of intimate 1:1 parenting with her. All the rest will fall into place. It’s not a race. I’m right where I need to be. Relax. Have fun. You deserve it!
How do you think women of your generation are perceived?
Tired, stressed, hormonal, menopausal, dry, unsexy, getting old, dull, uptight.
Are there any myths you would like to bust about the over 40s? If so, can you tell us about them?
Myth: menopause means lackluster, dull, tired, boring, brittle bones, hot flashes, saggy, lifeless, overwhelmed, emotional…..
What advice do you have to offer to those who are approaching mid life or those that are in mid life and perhaps struggling with it.
Truth: We can continue to get juicier, more vibrant and healthier as we age. Aging towards health…It’s a thing! Most importantly our vital life force (kundalini) does not go away…ever. It can be cultivated and can be used to attain transcendental sacred sexual alchemy. Energy is everything. Don’t give up - It just gets better and better.
Do you have a favourite quote to share?
“The minute I heard my first love story,
I started looking for you, not knowing
how blind that was.
Lovers don't finally meet somewhere.
They're in each other all along.” - Rumi
